Obtaining a Re-Entry Permit and Changing Visa Status (December, 2009 )

今回は、再入国許可と在留資格許可申請について紹介します。

New Year’s customs differ by country – in Japan, specially prepared dishes known as Osechi Ryori are eaten during New Year’s time. There is also a custom of eating Nanakusagayu, or rice porridge with seven herbs, on January 7th and praying for good health. Nanakusagayu is further considered good for digestion, which comes in handy after eating and drinking too much over the holiday. The start of a new year also gives some people the chance to return home and begin a new life; thus, this month we will talk about re-entry permits and changing residence status.
