The Miyazaki International Plaza(April, 2009 )

今回は、県内の在住外国人の皆様が快適に生活できるよう支援を行っている「宮崎県国際プラザ」をご紹介します。

     Spring in Japan, ripe with burgeoning cherry blossoms, is considered the season of encounters. Cherry blossoms are flowers that many Japanese adore. People head to parks to see the cherry blossoms and have parties under the cherry trees. These flowers are seen as symbols of spring, as well as the expectations and anxieties of new beginnings. Many foreigners have most likely gazed at the cherry blossoms in Japan while thinking of their own distant hometowns. The Miyazaki International Foundation provides a variety of support for foreign residents so that they can spend their time comfortably in Miyazaki. This month, we will introduce the Miyazaki Prefecture International Plaza, a part of the Miyazaki International Foundation.

Place: On the 8^th Floor of Carino Miyazaki – only a 10 minute walk from Miyazaki Station.

Time: Open: Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

          Closed: Sundays, Mondays, public holidays and the New Year’s holiday (December 29^th to January 3^rd)

※If you come by car, please make use of the Carino Miyazaki paid parking lot, or try other nearby pay lots.

○Useful Information about Living in Miyazaki

  We can help you with any concerns regarding your life in Miyazaki: studying Japanese, sightseeing in Miyazaki, etc.

○Library System

  We have a diverse collection in our library. You can find English newspapers and a variety of books including foreign-language books, Japanese study materials, etc. Anyone can borrow these materials for two weeks, free of charge (up to two books and two videos per person).

○Message Board

You can use our message board to post announcements regarding events and language classes, etc. The Miyazaki International Foundation’s website also has a message board on its Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean web pages. Feel free to post at your convenience.

○CIR Support

CIRs (Coordinators for International Relations) work at the Plaza on varying days throughout the week. They can speak English, Chinese, and Korean respectively. The everyday staff can help out as they speak foreign languages as well, so please feel free to drop by the Plaza anytime.

CIR Plaza Work Days: Tuesdays = English & Chinese; Thursdays = Korean; Fridays = English
